Jennifer Botterill is one of Canada’s most successful athletes. A member of the Canadian Women’s Hockey Team for 14 years, she has made a lasting impact on the sport and is widely recognized as a star in Canadian women’s hockey. She is a three-time Olympic champion and four-time Olympic medalist, having represented Canada at multiple Olympic Games. A graduate of Harvard University and a decorated collegiate hockey player, Botterill is the only two-time winner of the Patty Kazmaier Award, which honours the top player in women’s college hockey. She made her debut for the Canadian national team in 1997 and was named to the first-ever Canadian Olympic women’s hockey roster in 1998. Throughout her career, she competed at the highest levels — both collegiately and professionally — contributing to numerous international tournaments, including the IIHF Women’s World Championships. She amassed 17 gold medals for Canada, is a five-time World Champion, and was twice named MVP of the World Championships. Her Olympic achievements include a silver medal and three gold medals, including scoring the gold medal–winning goal in the 2010 Olympic final.

As a professional hockey analyst and broadcaster, Botterill has worked with CBC, Sportsnet, MSG Network, and Turner Sports. She began her broadcast career in 2011 covering the Women’s World Championships for TSN and has since held roles with Hockey Central, Hometown Hockey, Wednesday Night Hockey, and Hockey Night in Canada. In the U.S., she works as part of Warner Bros. Discovery’s NHL on TNT broadcast team. In 2020, she made history as part of NBC’s first-ever all-women NHL broadcast team.

Outside the broadcast booth, Botterill is the CEO of Excel in Life Inc. and Journey to Excel Inc., where she continues to inspire others through coaching and consulting. She sits on the board of directors for CCM Hockey, is an ambassador for Right to Play, and has contributed to International Olympic Committee (IOC) athlete mentorship initiatives.

In recognition of her commitment to community service, Botterill was awarded the Order of Manitoba. She has worked with numerous charitable organizations, including the Special Olympics, KidSport, Children’s Wish Foundation, SickKids Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society, and Can Fund. She also maintains close ties to the hockey world through her family’s connection to the Pittsburgh Penguins via her brother Jason Botterill.
